It's good. Maybe not really great.

There's a lot of good stuff in here. And it's frankly a daunting topic which runs from Linux admin; thru EE; writing code in Python, Java and Arduino's lanuguage; and network admin.

I guess my biggest complaint is the lack of follow thru (this obviously wasn't edited by O'Reilly).

In several places, he assures us that the example code can be downloaded from the "book's companion website" and yet the URL of that site is unavailable. Nor can this site be found via the wide variety of Google search strings I tried. The publisher does not list it on their web site.

The book has no appendices. One helpful appendix might have listed all the parts required for the various projects. Another might have listed URL's and other contact info for the vendors and blogs listed in the text.

It's a good book. I would recommend it. But it's a bit rough around the edges.

The Remarkable Story told well

This is an excellent account of the Wright Brothers and family with plenty of detail to please the early aviation enthusiast. The extent of detail in this book (35 chapters) including coverage of Bishop Wright's ministry within the United Brethren Church of Christ, the Smithsonian controversy involving the Langley aerodrome, details of Katharine's romance with Harry Haskell, and of course all the details of the Wright's inventing process and adventures, reminds me of Tom Crouch's The Bishop's Boys. If you enjoyed The Bishop's Boys, you will treasure this book.

Great Book

This is a great book on the Wright Brothers. It is very detailed and well written. It takes you from their births to deaths and even discusses their father and siblings. If you want a comprehensive book on the birth of flight, this is it. It is a long book, 500+ pages but reads fast like a novel. The only negatives are, it needs more pictures and the writter is from New Zealand (which means he uses some funny words). This is a GREAT BOOK.

The processes of modelling and the use of the resulting models to inform predictions play key roles in the nature of science and hence in science education, especially in inquiry-based approaches. Against a background of the philosophical basis for modelling and models, the implications for science education are explored. The Bible of Formula Fords

I am a race car junkie. I have 17 vintage race cars and the number keeps on growing. Since many of these are Formula Fords, I use this book religiously. The book covers all of the Formula Fords of the period and does an adequate job at touching upon the history and cars of each marque. But by no means is it all inclusive. Not all the models have pictures and information varies from highly detailed to a cursory mention. But the book still rates at 5 stars since it is the most comprehensive written to date about Formula Fords. Demand for this book is still high and I'm surprised the publisher has not released a second printing of this book, nor Nickless has written a more detailed update. The Anatomy & Development of the Formula Ford Race Car

Formula Fords were the starting class for a lot of famous race car drivers including Michael Andretti. This book covers Formula Ford from 1968 to 1992. Not much as changed on Formula Ford (except Formula Ford 2000 cars have front and rear wings) and yes there is still Formula Fords racing in SCCA competition. Been there, done that!
